Job Description:
Every flawless wrap, tint, or PPF install starts with expert prep and that’s where you come in! Modsters is looking for a Prep, Disassembly & Reassembly Technician who takes pride in setting the stage for our custom monsters to come to life. You’re the backbone of every install, the one who makes sure the panels are clean, the bumpers are off, and everything fits back together better than it came.
If you’re detail-obsessed, mechanically inclined, and know your way around tools and trims, we want you on our squad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Prep: Wash, decontaminate, and prepare surfaces for vinyl wraps, PPF, tint, or coatings—ensuring zero debris, oils, or contaminants.
- Disassembly: Safely remove mirrors, lights, trims, emblems, badges, bumpers, and other components required for clean installation access.
- Reassembly: Carefully and correctly reinstall all parts, ensuring proper fitment and function—no rattles, gaps, or warning lights.
- Shop Workflow: Support wrap, tint, and detail teams by having vehicles prepped, disassembled, and staged on time.
- Tool Handling: Use tools properly and safely—power tools, plastic trim tools, sockets, fasteners, clips, etc.
- Organization: Keep hardware sorted and labeled during disassembly to ensure smooth, mistake-free reassembly.
- Damage Prevention: Work cautiously to avoid scratching, cracking, or damaging parts during removal or install.
- Collaboration: Work closely with installers, detailers, and project leads to stay aligned on each build’s needs and timeline.
Company Culture:
At Modsters, we don’t just build custom rides—we build complete experiences. Every role matters, and yours sets the tone for everything that follows. You’ll work in a high-energy, detail-driven environment where pride in your craft is expected and respected. If you love working with your hands and want to be part of a fast-paced, high-performance crew, this is your chance.
Must Haves:
- 1–3+ years of experience in automotive disassembly, prep, or mechanical work.
- Comfortable working with clips, fasteners, panels, bumpers, and interior/exterior trim pieces.
- Basic knowledge of how modern vehicle components are assembled and function.
- Steady hands, patience, and mechanical intuition.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
- Must be okay with physical work and moving vehicles in/out of bays.
Probationary Period:
All new hires will go through a 1-week to 3-month trial period based on:
- Accuracy & Care: Clean disassembly without breaking clips or damaging components.
- Reassembly Quality: Everything goes back properly and works as it should.
- Prep Standards: Vehicles are spotless and ready for install.
- Time Management: Staying on track with project timelines.
- SOP Compliance: Following safety and process protocols consistently.
- Team Fit: Positive attitude, accountability, and willingness to support the crew.
If you’re the kind of person who loves taking things apart (and putting them back better), we want to hear from you.
